WELCOME TO R|HOUSE
YOUR LUXURY RURAL ESCAPE
Rennington House is a fabulous Georgian farmhouse located in the village of Rennington between Alnwick and Embleton, close to Northumberland's Heritage coast. The house is ideally situated for a relaxing break with family and friends with its immaculate interior, accommodation for 12 guests and large party barn.
What a wonderful stay in a wonderful house! Warmly welcomed with delicious flapjacks. We enjoyed a lovely weekend enjoying Alnwick Gardens and Bamburgh Castle but mostly just spending time in each others company in this beautiful house in the warmth of the kitchen by the Aga and fire in the sitting room. We will visit again. Many thanks. xxx

3 generations of the Scott family had a marvelous week in this splendid house and the sun shone for most of the time.

A great house for a large family gathering. Plenty of space for everyone and a real home from home. All the details considered and a lovely welcome pack. Thank you for your hospitality.

Situated in the heart of ‘Percy Country’ on the edge of Rennington village, the house enjoys a rural location but sits just four miles from the medieval market town of Alnwick, home to the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens. You will find an excellent range of amenities here and an eclectic mix of specialist shops and high street stores. Wander the cobbled streets and gift shops around the marketplace or stop-off at one of the many quaint cafes across the area, including Bari Tea based in the Castle Quarter for a very lovely lunch or a decadent afternoon cream tea! Seek out Barter Books - ‘a book heaven’ with thousands of paperbacks, hardbacks and collector’s editions based in a beautiful former railway station, or pop into the super Bakehouse Gallery showcasing the work of local artists and designers.
The unspoit beaches are truly glorious here with castles and harbours dotted along the wide expanses of sand, dunes, golf courses and cliffs. Northumberland is know as "Devon without the crowds“ and is great for dog walking, games, boat trips to the Farne Islands from Seahouses, Castle visits at Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh or bird watching at Newton by the Sea. The Cheviots are wild and dramatic and a selection of Shepherds walks are provided. More information of things to do in the area can be found on the R|Northumberland page.
Just a two minute walk from Rennington House, The Horseshoes Inn is a cosy pub run by Mark & Louise which features in the Good Beer Guide. For a dining experience with a difference, the Treehouse Restaurant at Alnwick Gardens set within one of the world’s largest treehouses, is not to be missed. Set high in the treetops, it is a magical spot to spend an evening, featuring local fish and seafood, meats from Northumberland’s farmlands, as well as other regional specialities all within a lovely ambient setting. Alternatively head to the pretty fishing village of Craster (4.5 miles) to sample some of the legendary oak smoked kippers or salmon from L Robson & Sons, or the Jolly Fisherman pub, famous for its crab sandwiches and mussels.
The house is conveniently placed for access to the main A1, and there is a direct and regular rail link to Newcastle from Alnwick for a city day out.
